Absconder Encounter is a Side Quest in Hogwarts Legacy. Side Quests are not required to advance in the main story of the game, but still completing these Quests can be useful to obtain Rewards for completing them. These quests sometimes serve as tutorials for new activities and may contain some Lore or background of the Harry Potter Universe.

Absconder Encounter Hogwarts Legacy Walkthrough

Talk with Edgar Adley

Speak with Edgar in Aranshire; he wants you to retrieve the friend's heirloom from the Absconder. [Map Link]

Find The Absconder’s Cave

To locate the cave, enter the Forbidden Forrest and follow the quest sign. To enter it, you must cast Incendio.

Defeat the Absconder

The Absconder can be found a little further into the cave. Once more, cast Incendio to enter the arena. Repeat the process of attacking him after dodging his blows. As often as you can, use Incendio. He may occasionally release some smaller spiders, which you should kill since otherwise they would be quite unpleasant.

Find the heirloom Milo left behind

The heirloom is hidden beneath some spider web in a small cave after you fight the Absconder. Enter it using Incendio.

Return the heirloom to Edgar

Simply go back to Edgar and give him the inheritance now. This will mark the end of this Side Quest.

  LOL I cheesed this with cabbages. Went into the cave with the disillusionment spell active so the Absconder wouldn't notice me, then got relatively close and tossed down 3 cabbages (well, 6 thanks to talents) and they got that spider taken care of in like 20 seconds flat, if that.
