In the Shadow of Time is a Side Quest in Hogwarts Legacy. Side Quests are not required to advance in the main story of the game, but still completing these Quests can be useful to obtain Rewards for completing them. These quests sometimes serve as tutorials for new activities and may contain some Lore or background of the Harry Potter Universe.

Meet Sebastian at the Catacomb

Follow the Quest Marker and speak with Sebastian at the Catacombs.

Enter the catacomb

After speaking with Sebastian, enter the Feldcroft Catacomb.

Find the relic

Combat the spiders at the entry before using Incendio to burn down the web covering the way. Kill the spiders in the following room, then go east down the hallway and descend down to the main altar. Alongside the altar, gather the Student Journal Entry paper.

Speak with Sebastian about the note

Speak with Sebastian again regarding the Journal paper you found.

Find a way through the barricade

There is a skeleton barricade on the east. By using Accio and Wingardium Leviosa, bring three piles of bones to this door. These bones are dispersed throughout the altar space.

Find the relic

Go to the next chamber via the barricade that has been opened. Sebastian's conversation will begin in the adjacent room. Imperio, a spell that casts an unforgivable curse, will be available for you to learn. You must use the learn spell mechanic if you decide to learn it. You must defeat the spiders that attack you after speaking with Sebastian. With Accio, unlock the door to the south, where you'll find another skeleton barrier. Same procedure: use Accio and Wingardium Leviosa to move three mounds of bones from the room to the barricade.

Defeat the spiders

In the room with the spiders past the barricade, take them out.

Find the relic

With Confringo or Incendio, destroy the enormous cobweb to the east, then take the Relic's Note and Lost Relic Illustration from the altar.

Speak with Sebastian about the relic

Find Sebastian and talk to him about the Relic.

Leave the catacombs

You can find Ominis if you return to your starting point.

Wait for Sebastian and Ominis to finish talking

Wait for Sebastian and Ominis to finish their conversation.

Persuade Ominis

Speak with Ominis and convince him.

Leave the catacombs

Return to the doorway. Unfortunately, you will need to go back every step of the way.

Return to Feldcroft

Run back to the Feldcroft marker.

Defend Feldcroft from Ranrok's Loyalists

you'll come under attack from the Loyalists, so prepare to battle and defeat them.

Talk to Solomon Sallow

To finish the task, follow the marker to Solomon and chat with him there.
