The Absconder is a Boss in Hogwarts Legacy. The Absconder is a massive magical arachnid covered in thick, black hair, with pincers that are lethal to the touch and can be found during the Side Quest Absconder Encounter. This IS an optional boss. Bosses are extremely powerful hostile Npcs that can inflict destructive attacks and resist much more damage than normal Enemies. The Absconder Fight Strategy
This boss fight can be difficult, as you would also face The Absconder's allies. When you see the Absconder stomping the ground, that's the signal for the other arachnids to join the fight. You would need to pay close attention to your surroundings, especially when the dodge or block prompt shows up. Other enemies in the area could overpower you when multiple attacks come your way.
Try to keep your distance with The Absconder, as its attacks are very linear. It's attacks are also very linear and slow, so you will have time to dodge or use Ancient Magic Throw to stop its attack.
Avoid using Control or Force Spells on The Absconder as it will have no effect. It is best used to immobilize other enemies in the area. Focus on using Damage Spells, specifically fire spells, and your Basic Cast to deal damage. Then when your Ancient Magic meter fill up, immediately use it to deal significant damage.
If you've defeated The Absconder with the other enemies still alive, you would still need to eliminate them, as they will not die along with The Absconder.

Absurdly powerful creature. Fighting foes all through the game with no trouble, come to this guy. He leaps at you, and oneshots you. If you dodge, he just does it again, and again. You can't possibly roll enough to get out of reach, so you're guaranteed to get killed, over and over and over and over. Kind of a waste of time even trying.
