The Hunt for the Missing Pages is a Main Quest in Hogwarts Legacy. The Hunt for the Missing Pages is an exclusive quest for the Gryffindor house and becomes available after completing the Trials of Merlin quest. Main Quests are mandatory Quests that tell the main story of the game, and completing all of them will accomplish the completion of the game. Still, that doesn't mean that Subquests, Challenges and Collections are not important, as these quests grant very useful items as rewards for completion and also contain a lot of Lore.
The Hunt for the Missing Pages Hogwarts Legacy Walkthrough
After completing the Trials of Merlin main quest, you will receive an Owl Post from Nellie Oggspire asking you to meet with Nearly Headless Nick. You can find him by the House Point Hourglasses at the Reception Hall, outside of the Great Hall.
Speak to Nearly Headless Nick
Speak to Nearly Headless Nick to begin the quest. He seems to know about the book you found during the Secrets of the Restricted Section and may be able to help locate its missing pages. He only requests that you perform one simple task for him.
Follow Sir Nicholas
Follow Sir Nicholas to the kitchen where he requests for you to acquire some Rotten Roast Beef for him. You two will wind up by a portrait of some fruit. Tickle the Pear to gain entry to the kitchen.

If you turn the corner from the portrait, you will find the entrance to the Hufflepuff common room and while it is inaccessible to non-Hufflepuff students, you can obtain the Revelio Page for the Hufflepuff Barrels here.
Obtain Rotten Roast Beef
Inside the kitchen, you can mingle with the House-Elves and collect chests scattered about. Your objective is the plate of Rotten Roast Beef in the southeast corner. Upon collecting it, Feenky the House-Elf will appear and initiate conversation, giving insight into Hogwarts dining and the House-Elves that make it happen. After speaking with her, return to Sir Nicholas.
Return to Sir Nicholas
Sir Nicholas will now task you with escorting him to a Sir Patrick Delaney-Podmore, a ghost in charge of organizing the Headless Hunt — a group of headless ghosts that Sir Nicholas has been trying to gain access to. He wishes to present the Rotten Roast Beef as an offering in hopes of getting into the hunt. The scene will cut to a graveyard north of Hogsmeade, where Sir Patrick and members of the Headless Hunt have gathered. Sir Nicholas will ask on your behalf to speak with Richard Jackdaw, who is at the scene, but unfortunately without his head. Sir Patrick will allow you to speak with him if you find his head.
Find the Headless Hunt's game
Follow the quest marker down to the river side and speak with Sir Nestor Amset, a ghost involved in the Hunt. He will task you with finding Jackdaw's head amongst the pumpkin patch five times.
Destroy the Pumpkins to find the head
After agreeing to the game, simply walk around the outside of The Magic Neep and blast away at the pumpkins to find Jackdaw's head a total of 5 times. To quickly complete this objective, look out for pumpkins that are wiggling. After finding him successfully, the ghost Dumfrey Westland will emerge from the pumpkin and quickly carry away Jackdaw's head and hide in another pumpkin and you can try to follow him in order to get a sense of the general direction of where he will be hiding next.
Speak to Richard Jackdaw
Once complete, you will be able to speak to Jackdaw who explains that it was due to the pages that he lost his head, and that the pages may still be at his remains in his tomb in the Forbidden Forest. After the conversation, the quest is completed.
