Minding Your Own Business | Hogwarts Legacy Wiki

Minding Your Own Business is a Side Quest in Hogwarts Legacy. Side Quests are not required to advance in the main story of the game, but still completing these Quests can be useful to obtain Rewards for completing them. These quests sometimes serve as tutorials for new activities and may contain some Lore or background of the Harry Potter Universe.

• Note that this quest is exclusive to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 platforms.

Talk to Penny at the Quest location

Just talk to Penny and she will offer her services as a House Elf if you manage to own a shop inside Hogsmeade.

Speak with Cassandra Mason

Follow the Quest marker and speak with Cassandra Mason. She will ask you if you are interested in purchasing her shop but will wonder if you can manage it due to your age. 

Collect 1,500 Gold to purchase the Shop

After your conversation with Cassandra Mason, do whatever is necessary to collect 1,500 gold to buy her shop. Once you've collected enough Gold, meet her at the same place and interact with her again. She'll mention that she has not retrieved her Husband's items yet, so head over to penny and get the key to open the Chest inside of the shop.

Speak with Penny the House-elf

Head over and speak with Penny at the same spot you spoke to her. Your character will inform Penny that you have already purchased the Shop. She'll mention that you two will need to do some repairs and some cleanings.

Clean up and make repairs

After your conversation with Penny, head back to the shop and make the needed cleanings and repairs. Cast Reparo on the highlighted areas to see your shop be fixed and cleaned. Penny will then speak with you and give you the key to a chest in the back room of the shop. 

Open the Mysterious Chest

Follow the Quest Marker to the back of the shop and open the Mysterious chest. Once you open it, a cutscene will play out revealing a ladder going down once you open the chest. Your character will head down the deep ladder and find him/herself inside a new spooky area.

Explore what lies below

Once the cutscene finishes, you can now start exploring the spooky area. Follow the path straight and enter the first room you see. You'll find a chest containing an elf-sized hat. Once you decide to leave the room, the door will automatically shut and begin to change spookily. You'll see that the mannequins inside the room have started to float and a voice in the background will start to speak. Cast Lumos to have a clear vision of the surroundings. Eventually, a door will automatically open for you, and once you enter, you'll find yourself inside a hallway with open doors on each side. A ghost will fly through while shutting down all the doors. The door up ahead will remain open, indicating that that's where you need to go. Once inside, explore the room and eventually, the room will transform again into a more creepy setting. You'll find an open door that you need to go through. Head down the set of stairs ahead until you reach a big room with abandoned items. Up ahead is a double door which you need to hang something on the handles. Cast Lumos to find the item needed around the room. You'll find a lantern on the side, so cast Wingardium Leviosa to make the last float and place it onto the right side of the door to hang it. the door will then unlock and a spooky scenario will play out again where the nearest door runs far from you but still need to follow. While running towards the door, the same voice that spoke earlier will speak again trying to taunt you. Once you reach the door, the area will creepily change again and you'll find yourself in a different room. Cast Lumos to see your surroundings. Enter the first door you see and you'll find yourself inside an open room. the poltergeist will show himself now as a cutscene will play. He will introduce himself as Fastidio. Afterward, there will be two doors on the right and left side of the room which you need to enter. Choose whichever you want to go in first.

Explore the Atrium

If you went to the right door first, you'll find yourself exploring the Atrium. you'll find another set of doors that you need to open with lanterns again. So, head right first and move the first lantern you see to the locked doors. While hanging the lanterns, you'll find a door open automatically again. Go inside the door and you'll find yourself inside a chess area. You'll need to figure out which part of the giant chess area you should not step on because if you step on the wrong one, you'll fall, straight through the floor. Once you get past the chess area, just follow the path until you reach another door. you'll find yourself back at the lantern area. Brong the first lantern to the door and hang it. Now, head to the left side of the site to locate the last lantern. Head straight until you reach a barricaded door opening. go through that, and you'll find yourself in another spooky area with a lot of doors on the wall. you'll find the lantern on the left and a hanger in front of you. Move the lantern to the hanger and a door will open right in front of you. Just keep doing the same thing as you proceed to the other side of the area. Once you reach the last part of the area, make sure that there is a lantern on the hanger of your side and another on the middle part. This will unlock a new door that you may enter. As you enter the door, a group of possessed mannequins will begin to attack you, so make sure to slay them. After defeating the mannequins, a random door will open up, so enter. The other door inside will move farther away from you, so make sure to follow it. Once the door stops, the lights will come off, so make sure to cast Lumos again. Once you cast Lumos, you'll find yourself inside a different area again. Just keep following the path, and you'll run into the lantern you need to open the double doors. Move the lantern and hang it next to the door again. This will unlock the door and will show you another staircase going down. Once you reach the bottom floor, the Poltergeist will appear again.

Play with the Poltergeist

The Poltergeist will appear again and will start to attack you with floating furniture.  Make sure to dodge or destroy the furniture coming your way, A group of mannequins will attack you as well, so make sure to destroy them. Once you destroy the mannequins, the poltergeist will disappear and you must head back to the Foyer.

Head back to the Foyer

head back to the area where you had to choose which door you needed to go to first. Once you get back, a short cutscene will play again showing that the first lock of the big door in front of you has been unlocked. This will indicate that you now need to explore the door to the left to unlock the final lock.

Explore the library

Head to the 2nd door to the left and explore the library. Cast Lumos to reveal the area more. Up ahead, you'll find another double door that you need to unlock with lanterns. Head first to the hallway to the left side of the library and head straight. Follow the path until you reach the next puzzle zone you need to get through to get the first lantern. Once you complete the puzzle zone, hang the first lantern to the double doors and now proceed to the right side of the library for the final lantern. Head down the staircase and follow the path to the next puzzle zone. Once you get the final lantern, place it on the double doors again and go inside and up the staircase. The Poltergeist will appear again to attack you.

Entertain Fastidio

Fastidio the Poltergeist will start to attack you again. Just keep dodging his attacks until the sequence ends. He'll disappear again after.

Head back to the Foyer

Head back to the Foyer again and watch the big door unlock. Enter it and venture.

Venture Beyond the Foyer Doors

Go through the door and follow the path inside. You'll eventually reach a graveyard then a cutscene will play out. Fastidio will speak to your character for a bit before a boss battle with his starts.

Challenge Fastidio

At the start, Fastidio will form a boss monster made of furniture, make sure to equip your best damaging spells since this monster has a bit of high health. The Monster will have three stages to its health. Each stage will destroy him for a bit but will then reform and will summon some mannequins to support him. We suggest destroying the mannequins first to avoid extra damage from them. The final stage of the fight will play out upside down, making the controls difficult for you. Once you defeat the monster, Fastidio will acknowledge your strength, and a cutscene will play out. You'll agree with the Poltergeist and you may return to the shop.

Return to the Shop

Follow the quest marker to return to the shop. 

Speak to Penny

Follow the Quest Marker and speak with Penny. Penny will start to get startled when you ask why she didn't mention anything to you that could happen. She'll reveal that she was forbidden to tell you anything and will be deeply sorry for causing you trouble. She'll mention that officer Singer would know what to do. 

Seek out Officer Singer

Follow the Quest Marker and speak with Officer Singer regarding what happened. 

Confront Cassandra Mason

Follow the quest marker leading to Cassandra Mason. While you and Officer Singer speak with Cassandra, she will attack Officer Stinger while she is speaking. This will initiate a boss fight between you and Cassandra. Cassandra will have 3 stages to her health. After beating the first stage, she will then start to have a barrier around her, making it harder for you to deal damage to her. Make sure to counter the rocks that she's throwing at you to disable the barrier temporarily. This will be your window to deal damage. In the 3rd stage, she will start to teleport often, which will be a bit harder for you. There will be times that she will throw rocks again, so wait for that moment to destroy her barrier and deal damage. A cutscene will play out after you defeat her. Officer Singer will restrain her and exchange words with Cassandra. After a while, Officer Singer will let you know that Cassandra will handle all paperwork needed to grant you full ownership of the shop and the House-elf while she is on her way to Azkaban.

Return to the Shop

Follow the Quest MArker back to the shop and speak with Penny. You'll let Penny know that you're now in full control of the shop. Penny will be happy and you'll have the choice to give her clothing to set her free. Penny will insist on staying in the shop still and helping you. This will mark the end of this exclusive Side Quest.
