Trials of Merlin is a Main Quest in Hogwarts Legacy. Trials of Merlin is about the player uncovering about the so called "Trials of Merlin". Main Quests are mandatory Quests that tell the main story of the game, and completing all of them will accomplish the completion of the game. Still, that doesn't mean that Subquests, Challenges and Collections are not important, as these quests grant very useful items as rewards for completion and also contain a lot of Lore.

Help the Stranger
You will find a woman being harassed by two thieves at the mission marker.
Defeat the Thieves
Prepare to engage in a fight with the two attackers. Defeat them and three scouts will also appear. One of them has a red shield that can be destroyed with Incendio.
Speak with the Stranger
Speak with the attacked woman once the fights are over.
Get the Mallowsweet from the Trunk
Head to Nora's tent to collect Mallowsweet Leaves
Solve Merlin's Trial
Now head to where the quest marker is and place the Mallosweet Leaves there by pressing 
. After this, cast Incendio on the pyres arround.
Speak to Nora Treadwell
Speak to Nora Treadwell to end the quest.
