The Final Repository is a Main Quest in Hogwarts Legacy. The Final Repository has the player finally facing Ranrok in a magic duel. Main Quests are mandatory Quests that tell the main story of the game, and completing all of them will accomplish the completion of the game. Still, that doesn't mean that Subquests, Challenges and Collections are not important, as these quests grant very useful items as rewards for completion and also contain a lot of Lore.
The Final Repository Hogwarts Legacy Walkthrough
Return to the Map Chamber
Fast travel to the Map Chamber and start the quest.
Talk to Professor Fig
Once inside the Map Chamber, locate Eleazar Fig and talk to him.
Enter the Keeper's Caverns
Proceed through the door and interact with it. This will allow you to enter the Keeper's Caverns.
Make your way to the repository
Walk with Eleazar Fig along the bridge.
Stop the Goblin Loyalists
As you make your way along the bridge, Goblin Loyalist will attempt to stop you on your tracks. Defeat them all.
Reach the Repository Before Ranrok
Wait for Eleazar Fig to move the drill, and then keep going.
Defeat the Loyalists and their Trolls
A new wave of Goblin Loyalists will make their entrance, and this time they won't be along. They are bringing two powerful armored trolls into the fight. Defeat them all to progress.
Find a Path Through
Approach the wall that has the hazed veil to make Fig blast it away, granting passage.
Reach the Repository Before Ranrok
Keep advancing through the tunnels.
Defeat Ranrok's Loyalists
More enemies will attempt to stop you know. Dispose of them all.
Reach the Repository Before Ranrok
Once again, approach the wall that has the hazed veil in order to make Fig create a new path. As all professors are dealing with the mob, take advantage of this to keep pushing your way through the cave.
Defeat Rarok's Loyalists
A new wave of enemies will spawn, defeat them and a cutscene will trigger. Eleazar Fig will initiate conversation, choose any of the dialogue options available
Defeat Ranrok
The final showdown against Ranrok is taking place. Rework your spell set and use a varied set with at least a Damage Spell, a Control Spell and a Force Spell. (Red, Yellow and Purple).
During the fight you will be on the defensive end, just focus on avoiding his devastating attacks and when you see colored orbs around him, use a spell that matches that color to dispel his invisible shield. Then unleash Damage Spells on Ranrok.
Then, the process being anew, and you have to evade attacks again and repeat this pattern. Only each time, you will be dispelling one more orb than the previous phase. There are three phases in total, so you won't be dispelling more than 3 orbs.
Once you finish this fight, the quest is over.
The Final Repository Endings Guide
Contain the Ancient Magic
During the penultimate quest "The Final Repository", after defeating Ranrok's Loyalists and arriving at the repository, Professor Fig notes that you are now the Keeper of the Ancient Magic held within and presents you with the question, "What do you intend to do with it?"
- Choose the dialogue option "I intend to keep it contained here."
- After exchanging more lines, choose the option "I shall keep it secret forever."
This seals your choice, unlocking the Good Ending after defeating Ranrok in the final boss encounter.
Outcome:
Ranrok is defeated and Professor Fig appears to help you seal the repository. Unfortunately, as he is injured during Ranrok's transformation, the strain proves too much and he says his final words to you as you hand him Miriam's wand. He passes on, content that the Wizarding World could not be in more capable hands. Afterwards, a ceremony is held at the Great Hall of Hogwarts, as the faculty lament the passing of Professor Fig and honor his sacrifice. The season changes to Spring.
Unleash the Ancient Magic
During the penultimate quest "The Final Repository", after defeating Ranrok's Loyalists and arriving at the repository, Professor Fig notes that you are now the Keeper of the Ancient Magic held within and presents you with the question, "What do you intend to do with it?"
- Choose the dialogue option "I intend to open it."
- After exchanging more lines, choose the option "This power should not be kept from the world."
This seals your choice, unlocking the Bad Ending after defeating Ranrok in the final boss encounter. Professor Fig is crushed by boulders during Ranrok's transformation and passes away.
Outcome:
Ranrok is defeated and the protagonist absorbs traces of Ranrok's powers into their wand as their eyes glow a bright, evil orange for a brief moment before preparing to blast open the repository in order to spread knowledge of the Ancient Magic to the wizarding world. Afterwards, a ceremony is held at the Great Hall of Hogwarts as the faculty laments the passing of Professor Fig and honor his sacrifice. The season changes to Spring.
Hogwarts Legacy The Final Repository Information
The professors and I defeated Ranrok, but not before he broke open the Repository and exploited its power. Professor Fig sacrificed his life to help me repair the Repository and contain its contents.
