Hopping Pot is a Conjuration in Hogwarts Legacy. Items that can be conjured are Conjuration Items that can be placed in The Room of Requirement or Vivarium as an Item of use or Decoration. These can usually aid with tasks such as Brewing Potions or Beast Care in the Vivarium. These Conjurations can be learned by purchasing their associated Conjuration Spellcraft. To learn how to conjure Hopping Pot players can obtain the Hopping Pot Spellcraft. Conjuration Spellcrafts can usually be purchased from the Tomes and Scrolls shop in Hogsmeade. Moonstone is sometimes required in order to perform a Conjuration.
The Conjuring Spell is initially unlocked after progressing through The Room of Requirement Main Quest which introduces the Room of Requirement features. Conjured Items can vanish with the spell, Evanesco, which Vanishes items and returns moonstone when cast within the Room of Requirement. A number of Conjuration Spellcrafts can be purchased from the Tomes and Scrolls shop in Hogsmeade.

What does it mean by periodically? Does it run out and you have to make another?
Once you place it down, every 12 minutes it produces a random potion that then has to be picked up. These potions don't seem to consume ingredients. I suspect it can only produce potions the player has recipes for.
