Thestral is a Flying Mount in Hogwarts Legacy. Thestral is a rare breed of winged horses that possesses a skeletal body and reptilian features. Flying Mounts are diverse magical beasts that wizards and witches can use to roam the skies of the Wizarding World. They can also be used as ground mounts, just like any normal horse, allowing players to traverse the world at a faster pace than they would without them.
To find all the Beasts in the Wizarding World, players will need to locate their Beast Dens which are marked on the map with a claw icon 
. You can also visit the Hogwarts Legacy Map to view all available Beast Dens around the different regions of the game.

- The Thestral is a haunting, winged equine beast that is only visible to those who have seen death.
- There is a total number of 2 Thestral Beast Dens that can be found in Hogwarts Legacy.

- Thestral Hair - Acquired after taming one, feeding and petting it.
Thestral Location in Hogwarts Legacy
- Sepulchria, a Thestral Mount can be found in the player's inventory if they have pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition of Hogwarts Legacy once they've completed the main quest: The High Keep.

So it’s not possible to use the ones you capture in the wild as mounts? I really thought it would be an option so I didn’t buy the deluxe edition and if I want to get the upgrade for it it’s $20 and I don’t want anything in the bundle except the thestral. Really sucks if that’s the case.
