Secrets of the Restricted Section is a Main Quest in Hogwarts Legacy. Secrets of the Restricted Section revolves around sneaking into the restricted area of the library. Main Quests are mandatory Quests that tell the main story of the game, and completing all of them will accomplish the completion of the game. Still, that doesn't mean that Subquests, Challenges and Collections are not important, as these quests grant very useful items as rewards for completion and also contain a lot of Lore.

Return to Professor Fig's classroom
Track this quest from the Quest Menu to know the better path to Professor Fig from wherever you are. Once you reach the classroom, press 
to wait for him when the prompt appears. He is willing to accompany you to the Restricted Area of the Library, but sadly, Headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black appears and takes him away.
Talk to Sebastian
Use your charmed compass, by pressing up in the d-pad. Follow the golden trail and to talk to Sebastian, he will help us sneak into the restricted section.
Meet Sebastian in the Central Hall at Night
Find Sebastian downstairs and you will eventually learn Disillusionment Charm. Complete the learning spell mini-game.
Sneak into the Library
Equip Disillusionment into your Spell Slot to be ready to cast it when needed. Note that although you can sneak past Enemies easily, you can still be spotted. So be quiet and move as stealthy as possible. Cast Disillusionment and head downstairs. Don't dive in, wait for the prefect to walk away and then continue forward. Use the fountain as a hiding spot, and once the prefects go their separate ways and are as far from each other as possible, enter the library.
Talk to Sebastian
Use the bookcase as cover, and then talk to Sebastian.
Get the Key from the Librarian's Desk
Sebastian will topple a pile of books, wait until he does this, and use that distraction to continue undetected to the desk. Grab the key from the drawer.
Enter the Restricted Section
Follow the next marker, while you stay out of sight.
Find the Book
Open the gate to the Restricted Section and you will find a chest by the stairs, open it. Continue downstairs. A small tutorial will play out, teaching you how to distract Enemies using Basic Cast. On your minimap you will see a red marker moving around, that's a ghost. To distract it, use basic cast on a broken armor on the other side of the room.
Use the distraction to proceed to the next room, and to find another ghost roaming in it. Repeat the same tactic to be able to remain unseen and advance, and head downstairs.
Once there, you will find a chest on your right side, open it. As you continue through the halls, you will find as chest with an eye on the top. You have to use Disillusionment in order to open this kind of chests. Continue until you reach the next yellow marker. Peeves will appear and attempt to get us caught, but Sebastian prevents that from happening. Cast Reparo on the armor, enter the room and open the chest there.
Search for the Secret Hidden in the Restricted Section
Continue until you will eventually find a pool of ancient magic, interact with it.
Enter the Athenaeum
Enter the portal, and go downstairs. There is another chest on your left, open it. After this, enter the Athenaeum.
Discover the Secret of the Antechamber
Keep moving and eventually you will reach a chasm. You have to use Basic Cast at the rune located above the door, on the other side. You will fight many Paladins from now on. Fight off the first group of Paladins, and after them, a new group will greet you in the next room.
Use basic cast again at the rune above the small opening, to create a platform on the right side of the room. Continue towards the spawning platform until you will be forced to stop. Again, use basic cast at the rune and a new set of platforms will be revealed. This will grant you access to a large chest inside a side room.
Head back to the main platform and use basic cast again at the rune one more time, to get the platform moving towards you. Head to the last available set of tiles, and once more, use basic cast at the rune to make the platform return to its original position, and allow you to continue forward.
After you have crossed, on both sides, you can find two chests. Be ready to fight more enemies.
When the door opens, head to the book and a cutscene will trigger.
Hogwarts Legacy Secrets of the Restricted Section Information
Professor Fig was called away by the Headmaster, so I convinced Sebastian to help me sneak into the Restricted Section of the library. It was lucky I asked for his help too because he taught me the Disillusionment Charm which helped me sneak past the Prefects and the librarian. Once in the Restricted Section, I discovered an ancient magic portal that led me to a hidden antechamber. In the antechamber, I was attacked by Pensive Paladins, but I managed to destroy them all! Then I found what looks like an ancient tome. I’m sure Professor Fig will know what it is. Sebastian, on the other hand, got caught by the librarian after Peeves gave us away – but he didn’t turn me in. I’m thinking Sebastian is going to be a good and loyal friend.
