The Path to Hogwarts is a Main Quest in Hogwarts Legacy. The Path to Hogwarts is the first Main Quest of the game, it is earned automatically after the dragon attack. Main Quests are mandatory Quests that tell the main story of the game, and completing all of them will accomplish the completion of the game. Still, that doesn't mean that Subquests, Challenges and Collections are not important, as these quests grant very useful items as rewards for completion and also contain a lot of Lore.
The Path to Hogwarts Walkthrough
Follow Professor Fig
After the attack on the chariot, you will be left stranded with Eleazar Fig on an unknown location in the Scottish Highlands. Follow Eleazar Fig around while both of you talk about Ancient Magic.
Eventually, you will reach an enchanted wall of ice. Fig will prompt you to shoot the wand using your basic attack (). After a few attacks, you may continue following Fig.
After some more talk regarding your magical abilities, you will reach a broken bridge that Eleazar Fig will repair by casting Reparo. Cross it and once on the other side, interact with the status on your left. Continue forward through the crumbled passageway.
Explore the Ruins
You will reach to an enchanted stone wall for the second time. Use your basic attack () to reveal a room behind it. Interact with it to be transported to a different place, a closed area in which a goblin banker is sleeping. This area is Gringotts Wizarding Bank. The Goblin takes you to vault 12 after he asks for the key.
Wake the Goblin
You will be locked inside the vault by the Goblin Banker, according to him, those were the instructions he was given. Eleazar Fig will instruct you to cast Revelio for the first time. Complete the mini-game and cast your newly-acquired spell.
Proceed into the Vault
This will reveal a hidden door, open it to enter a dark room. Fig will lighten the room by casting Lumos. Stay close to him as he progresses through the room.
Interact with Magic
Eventually, you will find another glow, this time on the floor, interact with it to progress further.
You will see a statue's reflection on the floor, cast Revelio to reveal it to Fig. After a short sequence, Fig will teach you Lumos. Complete the mini-game and cast it. Then move just in front of the statue, to make the reflection align with it. This will cause the statue to move. You will be attacked by one, and you will have to press to cast Protego.
Protego Incoming Enemy Attacks (0/3)
After this, more statues will come, you will have to cast Protego 3 times to deflect the Guardians' incoming attacks to complete this section. Don't start attacking them before completing this previous step, or they will just keep spawning. Once you have casted Protego correctly 3 times, you will be prompted to destroy the Guardians using your basic attack (). When all the Guardians are dead, the room will darken again, and you will have to look for Fig.
Find Professor Fig
Cast Lumos and start looking for him. Follow the magical wisps to reach another glow on the ground. You will have to complete another Statue puzzle again.
Activate the Statues
Cast Revelio to reveal the three statues, and then Lumos. Move in front of each statue, one by one. This will cause them to match their respective reflection. You will see a line emerging from the ground once a Guardian is standing. Move to the place where all three lines on the ground converge.
Hold Protego to Stupefy counter enemies (0/3)
This leads to another fight. You will learn to cast Stupefy here. It serves as a counter-attack. Cast it three times correctly and then destroy the rest of the Enemies to complete this section.
Find Professor Fig
Cast Lumos again and follow the magical wisp to reach a strange symbol standing on the ground. Investigate it to reveal a door. Pass through it and interact with the potion-like object located in the centre of this room. Fig will then join you and use the Pensieve.
After the cutscene, Ranrok makes its entrance and attempts to intimidate both of you, but you manage to escape from him.
Hogwarts Legacy The Path to Hogwarts information
Professor Fig and I have travelled via Portkey to a remote cliffside in the Scottish Highlands. We need to explore the mysterious ruins that we suspect the Portkey was meant to lead us to.
While searching through a ruined castle in the Scottish Highlands. I happened upon a strange glowing doorway made of crystallized stone. Suddenly, Professor Fig and I found ourselves in an ornate vestibule. We remain unsure of what we will find.
After entering the vault, we quickly realised that it was empty. I saw a glowing symbol on a hidden door - the same symbol from the Portkey container. When we tried to open the door, we suddenly found ourselves transported to a vast expanse of darkness. We believe we are still in Gringotts, but this is certainly no ordinary vault.
While searching through the darkness, we came upon a statue whose reflection was only visible to me. When I aligned the statue with its reflection, it attacked.

Notes, Tips & Trivia for The Path to Hogwarts in Hogwarts Legacy
- Full Journal Description after finishing
After a dragon attacked our carriage to Hogwarts, Professor Fig and I happened upon a private entrance to Gringoths Wizarding Bank that was only visible to me. In one of the bank's oldest vaults, we witnessed a Pensieve memory, left behind by an ancient wizard called Percival Rackham. who could see the same sorts of magic that I see. A goblin called Ranrok tried to take the locket we'd found, but we narrowly escaped with it and our lives. It seems the fate of the entire wizarding world may rest on my shoulders. I have much to learn at Hogwarts, and not much time to do it.
