The High Keep is a Main Quest in Hogwarts Legacy. The High Keep tasks the player with helping Natty investigate a case of beast poaching at the ruins of a castle. Main Quests are mandatory Quests that tell the main story of the game, and completing all of them will accomplish the completion of the game. Still, that doesn't mean that Subquests, Challenges and Collections are not important, as these quests grant very useful items as rewards for completion and also contain a lot of Lore.
The High Keep Hogwarts Legacy Walkthrough
Meet Natty near Falbarton Castle
To begin the quest, fly out towards the ruins of Falbarton Castle to the east of Hogsmeade Valley. Interacting with the quest marker will move time forward to nighttime.
Afterwards, Natty will speak with you, urging you to remain quiet. She asks for your help in retrieving a letter bearing Victor Rookwood's seal which she saw Theophilus Harlow reading, which should serve as proof for Officer Singer of their connection. She then goes to check on the main gate, tasking you with finding an alternative way into the castle keep.
Climb the battlements
Once you regain control, you can approach the main gate and collect the Guard Duty Rules note to the left. There is a path to the right of the gate where you will be able to climb up the battlements. Before climbing, you can collect some Ashwinder Eggs in the corner. Make your way up using the debris and wooden platforms and head towards the left to find a closed gate with a contraption to its left. Cast Depulso to activate the contraption, unlocking the gate to a small room. Inside is a large box blocking the way to a chest containing a Random Item.
*Important: Save your game before attempting to interact with this box as it can get stuck in the environment, especially if you try to use Wingardium Leviosa to pull it out. It can get stuck to the point where it can no longer be moved. For best results, use Accio to pull it out of the doorway instead.
Pull the box out of the room with Accio and then collect the item from the chest. Head back outside and use Wingardium Leviosa to maneuver the box towards the second climbing point along the battlements. Set the box along the wall and note that you still will not be able to reach the upper ledge with the box alone. Cast Levioso on the box to levitate it in place and then jump on top in order to reach the battlements.
Enter the Gatehouse
Once you reach the battlements, you can cast Revelio to reveal objects you can interact with in the vicinity. Note that as you continue on the path, you will see a set of planks covering an opening in the wall. Destroy them to reveal a crawlspace. However, another box is blocking the path through which you cannot move from here. Instead, walk past the opening and turn the corner to the left to find a window. From here, you can cast Accio on the box to move it out of the way and then proceed through the crawlspace to get inside.
Open the main gate
Inside the Gatehouse, you will find another crank mechanism which controls the main gate. Cast Depulso on it and watch the gate rise along the wall. Once it does, quickly cast Accio on the wall behind it to pull down a locking mechanism, keeping the gate in place. Shortly after, Natty will come up to meet you.
Follow Natty
Follow Natty to the main keep. She expects to find Harlow inside, along with the letter. As you approach, a cutscene reveals Harlow and his gang had captured Highwing, the Hippogriff introduced to you by Poppy during Beasts Class. Natty decides she will attempt to retrieve the letter while you rescue Highwing. However, before you can make it in, the gate shuts, forcing you to find another way up.
Get to the roof
When you regain control, climb up the wooden platforms to the right of the main keep. Upstairs, you will find a set of stairs to the right and a path straight ahead where a window to a small room with a box can be seen but not accessed. Cast Depulso on the box to push it off the ledge. Head down the stairs to the outer battlements where you will find another set of stairs on the opposite side leading up to a ledge. However, the stairs have been broken. Look to your left to see the box you had pushed off the ledge had fallen to this floor. Pull it out of the space and then move it towards the space between the ledge and where the stairs had broken. Cast Levioso on it in order to reach the upper ledge. Once you climb, you will notice a Poacher Tracker walking towards the right edge in front of you. You can carefully sneak up to him and use Petrificus Totalus to instantly defeat him. You can head inside the small room he came from to find some coins and a chest.
Next to the room's entrance, head up the stairs where a Poacher Tracker, a Poacher Duellist and a Poacher Stalker are keeping watch. You can quickly dispatch the closest opponent by sneaking with Disillusionment and then quickly petrifying him before the Stalker detects you. Either way, this shouldn't be too difficult of a fight. You can use the explosive barrel in the area to deal a large damage to the enemies. Once they are dispatched, cast pick the lock on the nearby gate to gain entry. Inside, check the small room on the left for a sack with some money and then climb up the ledge on the opposite side and follow the path towards the roof. Shortly after, you will see a Poacher Ranger descend from the roof to taunt you, beginning another fight. Quickly disable her with Levioso and then push her off the ledge with Depulso. Another Ranger and a Stalker will soon join the fight. If you are quick, you can push the second Ranger off as he lands.
Once the enemies are taken care of, pick the lock on the gate nearby. Inside, enter the gated room (it is unlocked) where you can find the Poachers' Inventory List, as well as two Puffskeins and a Niffler that you can rescue. Afterwards, exit the room, turn right and follow the stairway up. In the next hall, a small room on the right contains some coin and the next room on the right has a destructible wooden barricade which will reveal a crawlspace with a plank that leads to a small room with a chest and a Panicked Poacher's Note. Finally, return to where you destroyed the barricade and continue heading up the stairs to the roof where a cutscene with Highwing and another Hippogriff begins as the Poachers catch up to you while you and Natty make your escape atop your winged friends.
Follow Natty on Highwing
Simply follow Natty and enjoy the scenery as you make your way back towards Hogwarts. Another cutscene will conclude the quest as Natty gives her thanks for your help on this investigation.
Hogwarts Legacy The High Keep Information
What an adventure! It began when I met Natty near some old castle ruins. She told me how she had followed Theophilus Harlow to the Hog’s Head and noticed him reading a letter bearing Victor Rookwood’s seal. She wanted to get that letter to bring to Officer Singer as proof of Harlow and Rookwood’s collusion, so she followed Harlow to Falbarton Castle. On our way inside, we saw that the poachers had captured Highwing and another Hippogriff. Together, Natty and I rescued the Hippogriffs from the poachers and got away with the incriminating letter, which Natty plans to deliver to the Officer Singer and bring Rookwood and Harlow to justice.

- Flying Mounts as a feature is also unlocked by completing this quest. As a result, players who have pre-ordered any edition of the game will recieve Calico the Onyx Hippogriff. Players who have purchased the Deluxe Edition will also receive Sepulchria the Thestral Mount.
