Flying off the Shelves is a Side Quest in Hogwarts Legacy. Subquests are not required to advance in the main story of the game, but still completing these Quests can be useful to obtain Rewards for completing them. These quests sometimes serve as tutorials for new activities and may contain some Lore or background of the Harry Potter Universe.
Cressida's books, including her diary, are flying around the library. I need to collect all five of them for her.
Flying off the Shelves Hogwarts Legacy Walkthrough
Talk to Cressida Blume who seems to be worried about something. She explains she is in a spot of trouble with the librarian. She has been trying to create her own charms, a 'light as a feather' one to carry her heavy books around as she gets tired carrying them around all day. But she confused the latin word for 'feather' with 'bird' as her books flew away when she opened her bag.
She is ashamed to go back in the library to collect her books as it's not her first time causing trouble in there, and the librarian, Madam Scribner, that she would write to her parents if she causes any more trouble. So she then asks you to retrieve those books in the library for her.
Go to the library to collect the 5 books around there. You must cast Accio towards them to catch them. (Casting Revelio won't reveal the books position nor mark them)
- There's a book flying around the long tables downstairs.
- There's another one around the same area, flying higher.
- There's a book around the shelves upstairs on the southwest corner.
- There's another book on the other side shelves, flying up high.
- The last one is near the fireplace.
The books roam around the library, so the might not always be in the same place all the time. Mind that there are also some Field Guide Pages around the Library that you may find, make sure the book counter on your screen updates everytime you find something until you find the 5 books.
When you find all of them, you will be able to read Cressida's diary, where she talks about Garreth. A student who seems to be somewhat chaotic in the potions class, and it seems that he is Professor Weasley's Nephew, otherwise, according to her, he would've been expelled by now.
Return to Cressida Blume. You can give her the books kindly or try to extort her to receive a reward in exchange for keeping her diary a secret. Either way, the quest will completed after finishing the conversation.

- Talk to Cressida Blume who is sitting at the end of the balcony in the hall where the fountain of the three mermaid statues are.
