Speak to the Hufflepuff in the Astronomy Wing

From the Defense Against the Dark Arts Tower Floo Flame Fast travel point, descend the steps. Wait for Evangeline Bardsley to appear in the shining circle as this quest may only be begun during the day.

Find the tower bells

Navigate through North Hall's top floor to the Bell Tower. You can find the first bell as you ascend the Bell Tower's stairs. Wingardium Leviosa can be used to connect it to the other bells above. You can discover the other bell to attach on a ledge next to the stairs by going up two more flights. Wingardium Leviosa can be used to connect it to the bells below you.

Return to Evangeline

At the same location in the Defense Against the Dark Arts Tower is Evangeline. To return more quickly, use fast travel.

  What happens if you complete the bell puzzle before you get the quest? Is it still possible to obtain the quest? I've heard conflicting information.
